Testing, testing...four, five, six...

This iPad impressed the heck out of some of the attendees at Julia Hirschberg's presentation (at Columbia University) yesterday. When I admitted I am not (yet) a computer person, she smiled and gently changed the topic from her brand new Mac to linguistics! Much better! We enjoyed her fascinating discussion on charisma. At the end, I realized that she repackaged her talk, from research to pilot study, because she and her protege were not able to "scare up" a large group of subjects...Brilliant, really...

"A Declaration of Interdependence"

Last week I attended The Black Maria Film Festival winners' tour at SCCC. One of the winners was entitled "A Declaration of Interdependence."
