I must say, I am getting a real charge out of this iPad!! It's with me everywhere I go...like one of those darling little puppies~My husband is getting a little annoyed with it, however. He referes to it as "the night light," as I am always reading from it in the evenings. What I am enjoying about it most, so far, is its portability! While my laptop isn't huge, it is a nuisance to carry, and it isn't in cognito; whereas, the iPad can be tucked into my bag and be inconspicuous.
But what is the point telling you this, if I am not going to tell you what I am doing with it...Mostly, I am "playing" with it. I am looking up several articles at once, and having them for ready access. This makes sense to me, as my brain works this way! Also, I have been experimenting with Educreations, making a few versions of the C-cCM I will be presentintg, trying to determine which version has the best educational value.
I have also downloaded several free apps and have been experimenting with them: Netflix, iBooks, Pandora, NYTimes, NPR, Skype, to name a few. I hope to figure out how to Skype this week; while almost no one I know uses Skype, I am not deterred. I will find SOMEone to Skype with!!
While this may sound lame, I am also enjoying sharing the iPad with others. My son is a consummate, well, non-Apple nerd; he went to the dark side and started playing with the iPad last week. I think he was surprised at how much he could make it do. My favorite was showing the ladies at work the iPad. I work in the library at the Sussex County Community College...I am one of the few people in this building with access to an iPad; using it is like flaunting a foreign language! Please understand, I DO actually appreciate their amazement / amusement with this gadget. I know I still have much to learn about it!
